Quotes and inspections
Yes. There is no call out fee. We get up on the roof, photograph what we find and give you a written quote, and there is no obligation to go ahead.
We call you to lock in a time that suits, come out and inspect the roof, photograph what we find, and give you a written estimate with your options laid out. No pressure and no obligation to go ahead.
It depends on the size of the roof, the pitch, the access and how much tile replacement and repointing it needs, so a number quoted over the phone is a guess. What you get from us is a written estimate after we have been up there and seen it, and that estimate is what you pay.
Anthony, the owner of Pro Shield Roofing. You call or text him directly and he comes out to inspect the roof himself. There are no salespeople.
Monday to Friday, 7am to 4pm. You can call or text 0468 498 592, or send the quote form on this site at any time and we will call you back.
Right across Melbourne, north, south, east and west. If you are not sure whether you are in range, ask. The answer is usually yes.
Roof restorations
Most of the time, restoring. A tile roof that is dirty, faded and losing its pointing is usually structurally fine and comes back beautifully. Replacement is for roofs that are genuinely past it, badly cracked throughout, or metal sheeting that has rusted through. We tell you which one you are looking at on the inspection, and we tell you if the honest answer is that it can wait.
A high pressure clean back to bare tile, broken and slipped tiles replaced, ridge capping bedded and fully repointed with flexible pointing, a sealer coat, then two coats of roof membrane in the colour you pick.
A typical house restoration runs across several days: clean, repair and repoint, then seal and coat. Weather moves it, because coating a wet roof is a waste of everyone's money. We give you the schedule up front and tell you the moment it changes.
Yes. A restoration finishes with two coats of roof membrane in the colour you pick, so a tired cement tile roof can come back as a deep charcoal, for example.
Yes, we are fully insured, with proper safety gear and the paperwork sorted before anyone gets on your roof. The 10 year workmanship warranty is for completed restorations, and you get it in writing.
Leaks and repairs
Call 0468 498 592. Leaks and storm damage go to the front of our list. We get on the roof, find where the water is actually coming in, show you the photos and give you a written quote before any work starts.
Ceiling stains or bubbling paint, mortar crumbs in the gutters, moss and dark streaking, cracked or slipped tiles, gutters overflowing in rain, and rust spreading on metal sheets. None of these mean you need a new roof, but each one is worth having looked at before the next downpour finds the weak spot.
Metal roofs, gutters and commercial
Both. Traditional tile and modern metal roofing, including re roofing a tile home in metal. We work with Colorbond and Stratco materials.
Yes. We re roof tile homes in metal using Colorbond and Stratco materials. The old roof is stripped back to the frame, new battens and sarking go on, and the new metal roof is laid with the flashings and capping detailed properly.
Yes. We replace tired and rusted guttering, fit new downpipes and sumps, and install leaf guard mesh so leaves stay out of the gutter in the first place.
Yes. Flat roofs, box gutters, membrane work and large spans on factories, warehouses and shops, and we schedule around trading hours where we can.
Six signs your roof is asking for attention
None of these mean you need a new roof. They do mean it is worth having someone up there before the next Melbourne downpour finds the weak spot first.
- Ceiling stains or bubbling paintWater is already inside. The entry point is almost never directly above the mark.
- Mortar crumbs in the guttersThe ridge capping bedding is breaking down and the caps are on their way loose.
- Moss and dark streakingThe tile surface has gone porous and is holding water instead of shedding it.
- Cracked or slipped tilesOne tile out of line lets wind driven rain straight under the course above.
- Gutters overflowing in rainBlocked or sagging gutters push water back under the eave and into the fascia.
- Rust spreading on metal sheetsOnce it eats through a pan, patching buys months rather than years.
