Ringwood is full of tile roofs that are sound underneath but worn out on top. We clean them back, repoint the ridge capping, then seal and coat them twice.
Most of Ringwood was built in the fifties, sixties and seventies. That means brick veneer and weatherboard homes with cement or terracotta tile roofs that have now had fifty years or more of weather.
The tiles themselves are usually still good. What has worn out is the surface and the mortar holding the ridge capping down. The roof goes patchy and grey, moss takes hold, and bits of mortar start turning up in the gutters.
That is what a restoration fixes. The roof is pressure cleaned back to bare tile, broken tiles are replaced, the ridge capping is bedded and repointed, then it gets a sealer and two coats of roof membrane in the colour you pick.
If we get up there and the roof does not need it yet, we tell you that too.
A lot of older Ringwood blocks now have two or three homes on them, with the original house still at the front. If that house is on its first roof, it is worth having it looked at. The full process is on our roof restoration page, and if it is the coating you want to know about, see roof painting.
Hilly streets, tall gums and roofs that have been up since the houses were built.

Yes. We are based in Lilydale and Ringwood is part of our home ground in the eastern suburbs. The inspection and the written quote are free.
Most of the time, restoring. A tile roof that is dirty, faded and losing its pointing is usually structurally fine and comes back beautifully. Replacement is for roofs that are genuinely past it, badly cracked throughout, or metal sheeting that has rusted through. We tell you which one you are looking at on the inspection, and we tell you if the honest answer is that it can wait.
It depends on the size of the roof, the pitch, the access and how much tile replacement and repointing it needs, so a number quoted over the phone is a guess. What you get from us is a written estimate after we have been up there and seen it, and that estimate is what you pay.
A typical house restoration runs across several days: clean, repair and repoint, then seal and coat. Weather moves it, because coating a wet roof is a waste of everyone's money. We give you the schedule up front and tell you the moment it changes.
Yes, we are fully insured, with proper safety gear and the paperwork sorted before anyone gets on your roof. The 10 year workmanship warranty is for completed restorations, and you get it in writing.
